The Killer Crisps

Crisps are delicious! They are crunchy, tasty, satisfying and addictive. When I have one I want another one. And another. And another. And then just none more.

When it’s time to think about preparing the evening meal I do so when I get hungry. I go to the kitchen to start making the big meal of the day. But I’m hungry and I want food now!

So whilst I am chopping veggies I have a crisp or two. And to make it more fun I have a dip. Sour cream and chives. Yum! Or Humus. Yum!

I dip the crisp. Delicious!

And the killer crisp now comes in ever bigger bags. So the temptation is there and the impact is worse than ever. Grab bags. Family bags, Share bags.

But crisps are very bad too. They have a very high calorific count. And they are not good calories. I shudder to think how many calories are in this snack. I’m not going to guess, and I’m not going to work it out, because I don’t want to know!

But I do know that if I can change this a bit, it could make a difference.

So I try breadsticks and other low calorie options. Still dipping. Still nibbling. But no crisps.

Again this might not make a huge difference. But if it makes 2 – 300 calories a week difference, that will add up over the months.
