I will not change everything about what I eat tomorrow. I’m not going to stop eating everything I like. I’m not going to only eat protein from now on. I love my carbs. I can’t live without carbs. Well I guess I could if the doctor said I had no choice. But that’s not happening today.
I’m not going to stop eating cake. I love cake. But maybe I’ll eat less of it, less often,
So I want to eat what I want to eat.
But I know I have to make a change.
So maybe I need to eat less of it and less often.
I do need to make a change or else…
So I’m going to take small steps. because I know I can take small steps of change.
The theory tells me that if I take a small step and succeed, then I will think to myself, ‘Yeah, I can change’. So I’ll take small steps. And change gradually.
The principle of the Beach Diet is to make small changes to what you do now. Not change everything about what you do now. Look at what you eat. Identify a thing you would like to change. Consider how you could change it. Make a small change, that for you is realistic.
Small changes are more likely to be successful and last longer. 🙂
